One Run 2026
HOW IT WENT
On Saturday, 23 May 2026, the Maldives made history as weRun brought OneRun Global to our shores for the very first time — marking the country’s debut on one of the world’s most remarkable running stages.
OneRun Global is a unified international running event held simultaneously across dozens of countries on a single day, turning the act of running into a shared global experience. The event offers distances of 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km, welcoming runners of all ages and abilities.
Born out of a vision for global unity through sport, OneRun became truly international in 2023 when it expanded to five countries. Its growth accelerated rapidly — by 2024 it had reached 15 countries and over 30,000 participants, and in 2025 it united 26 countries simultaneously under one shared start. In a landmark moment for the event, OneRun had previously broken the Guinness World Record for the largest number of cities in a synchronized start.
The defining spirit of OneRun is its simultaneous start across all participating cities on the same day — a powerful symbol of global unity through sport, and a celebration of health, accessibility, cultural exchange, and international friendship.
On 23 May 2025, as runners laced up from Riyadh to Kathmandu, from Cairo to Colombo, the streets of Hulhumale’ joined that global rhythm for the first time. Organised by weRun, our local running community stepped onto an international stage — proof that even the smallest island nation can run alongside the world.
