1) Eligibility & accounts
Provide accurate information; you’re responsible for safeguarding your login. Some events may have age/fitness prerequisites.
2) Event registration
Your spot is confirmed when payment is authorized and you receive a confirmation email. Follow event rules and on-site instructions.
3) Pricing, tax & currency
Prices include applicable local taxes/fees where stated. Your issuer may charge FX or cross-border fees when you pay in a currency different from your card currency.
4) Payments & authentication
We accept major cards via our acquiring bank and Mastercard’s gateway.
Where supported, we may trigger EMV® 3-D Secure (Mastercard Identity Check) to authenticate you and reduce fraud/chargeback risk. Mastercard
Stored credentials (tokenized cards): If you opt to save a card, you authorize us and our processor to store a payment token and to use it for future transactions that you initiate, or for any scheduled payments you separately authorize. We’ll identify the initiator (you vs. us), frequency, and amount where required. You can withdraw consent any time by removing the card or contacting us. (Stored credential framework requires disclosure, consent, and proper indicators.)
5) Security capabilities & transmission
We use TLS/SSL and a PCI-DSS–validated payment gateway. Card details are transmitted securely and not stored by WeRun; we store only tokens and transaction references. (PCI DSS baseline; typical acquirer site requirements.)
6) Event changes, postponement & cancellation
We may modify, postpone, or cancel events for safety, weather, permits, or other factors. See Refund Policy below for remedies.
7) Results, media & publicity
By participating, you consent to reasonable publication of your name, category, bib number, and finish time in leaderboards and to event photos/videos being captured. Contact us before race day if you require special handling.
8) Health & liability
You confirm you’re medically fit to participate and assume the inherent risks of running events. To the extent permitted by law, WeRun is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation.
9) Chargebacks & disputes
Before filing a chargeback, please contact us — we aim to resolve issues promptly. If a chargeback is filed, we may provide evidence such as the refund/return policy agreed to at checkout, delivery/attendance proof, and system logs. (Mastercard guidance highlights accepted evidence types for dispute responses.)
10) Intellectual property
Site/app content, event branding, and materials are owned by WeRun or licensed to us.
11) Card brand marks
We display card acceptance marks in line with network branding rules.
12) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Maldives. Venue: Malé, Maldives.
